Cell Phone Policy
Griswold Middle School strongly advises that students not bring cell phones to school. However, if a parent or guardian determines that their child must have a cell phone during the school day, please be aware that Griswold Middle School enforces a strict policy regarding the use of cell phones and personal electronic devices during school hours. We ask for parent and guardian support in upholding this policy.
We believe that removing the distraction of mobile devices from our school will lead to an environment more conducive to learning. It also contributes to a safe and supportive space for students' social and emotional well-being.
If a student cell phone is out during the school day, the student will be asked to deliver their cell phone to the main office. Students are expected to respectfully comply with this request. Cell phones may be confiscated by the administration. All confiscated cell phones are turned into the office with the student’s name attached.
- 1st Offense: Students may pick up their phone in the office at the end of the day. The student's parent/guardian will be contacted by email.
- 2nd Offense: The student will not be allowed to pick up their cell phone. The student's parent/guardian will be required to come and pick up the phone.
Any additional offenses will result in further disciplinary action.
If you need to reach your child during the school day, please contact the GMS Main Office at (860) 376-7630.
