Homework Policies
The 6th-grade team encourages students to take responsibility for their homework as an important step in preparing for high school. We focus on building time management, work completion, and self-ownership skills. Homework assignments are communicated in class, and students are expected to record them in their agendas each day. You can also find homework on our whole grade-level Google Classroom. Agendas will be checked weekly, and students can earn the reward recess if they complete their homework on time and with great effort!
Reward Recess System:
At the end of each quarter, students will have the opportunity to participate in an additional reward recess. Students will need to be caught up in their classwork and homework while continuously following classroom and school rules.
CREW & Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)
CREW meets weekly and helps students build strong relationships, learn conflict resolution skills, and feel connected to their school community. It’s one more way we support the whole child at GMS.
