Principal, Mr. Louis Zubek

Louis Zubek was appointed GMS Principal during the November 23, 2020 Board of Education meeting after serving as Interim Principal after Mr. LaBossiere's departure from the role, and GMS Assistant Principal during the 2019-2020 school year.
Mr. Zubek has a rich background in academics and school-community involvement. A Math Teacher with over 13 years of experience at Lyme-Old Lyme High School, Mr. Zubek has been involved in many initiatives including NEASC, Data Teams, Learning Walks, SRBI, and curriculum writing, development, and implementation. Additionally, he has been a basketball and crew coach, a club advisor, and a new teacher mentor. Mr. Zubek holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Springfield College, an M.S. in Education from the University of New Haven, and a 092 Certificate from Sacred Heart University.
Assistant Principal, Mr. Steven Bourque

Steven Bourque was appointed Assistant Principal of Griswold Middle School in August 2024. Mr. Bourque holds a BS in Music Education and a BA in Music from the University of Connecticut and a MA in Educational Leadership from Montclair State University. In 2010, Mr. Bourque completed his student teaching at Griswold High School and is excited to be back in this outstanding district!
Mr. Bourque worked at Ridgewood High School in Ridgewood, NJ for 14 years, serving as the Choir Director for 11 years and serving as a Grade Level Administrator for 3 years. During his time in Ridgewood, he served as an advisor for the student government, the musical director for the theater company, the director of the contemporary a cappella program, and the advisor for various other clubs and activities.
Mr. Bourque believes strongly in the importance of students building relationships within the school community and schools providing memorable and meaningful opportunities for students.
He and his wife both grew up in northeastern Connecticut and are parents to five children.
